April hasn’t been a great month for New Jersey’s East Coast casinos on the whole, but especially the Tropicana has suffered. Except in the case of Atlantic City’s Tropicana Casino and Resort it wasn’t so much the season or the economy. What caused the Tropicana a loss of almost 2 million dollars at their blackjack tables this month was just one single player.
The anonymous high-stakes player who caused this financial blow to the Tropicana walked off no less than $5.8 million the richer. Tropicana CEO Mark Giannantonio mentioned to the press that this blackjack player was the single largest winner in the history of the Tropicana.
