The Big Player

Today we’ve added a new book to our blackjack books section, The Big Player by Ken Uston. This book meant the end of one of Al Francesco’s successful blackjack teams, and caused a rift between Uston and Francesco. But it led to the formation of the MIT Blackjack Team and several other successful teams soon after its publication. Uston had a knack for self-promotion, but there is no doubt this book is an interesting read. It provides insight into attitudes towards blackjack, team mechanics, and casino culture in the 70s and 80s that will prove fascinating to anyone interested in the history of blackjack and card counting.
