Another brand new section of our blackjack history overview is up at last. Last time we covered the earliest history of the game, its origins and its precursors. But Vingt-et-Un, or Twenty-One, although an earlier version of Blackjack, wasn’t quite the same as the modern game. This time we’ve looked into the origin of modern blackjack rules, and why the name of Twenty-One changed into Blackjack. These changes happened after Vingt-et-Un came to the American West during the gold rush, the golden age of cardsharps.
