At least, that seems to be the personal tagline of Jacob Christensen, a Minnesota blackjack dealer who was forced to plead guilty to a gambling fraud after paying out attractive women at his table for losing hands just as if they had actually won.
Christensen was working as a blackjack dealer at the Mystic Lake Casino in Minnesota when casino surveillance staff noticed him paying an attractive woman out for a losing hand. On reviewing the surveillance footage casino staff soon found that this was part of a pattern rather than a mistake. After Christensen was confronted on the issue he quickly confessed he trying to use his position as a blackjack dealer to impress women, rewarding his most attractive female players for losing hands as well as winning ones.
There might be a little more behind Christensen’s dopey romcom story though, since the woman to whom he payed out the biggest sum of money by far – $9,500 (~R67,900), is the daughter of his landlord and has transferred suspicious checks back to him.
Christensen was sentenced to 80 hours of community service and 3 years of probation. He has also been banned from casinos for life and has been ordered to pay back the cumulative sum of $18,720 (~R134,000) he gave away.
