Today we’ve added a new blackjack pro to our professional blackjack players section. Our latest professionals profile is on Mike Aponte. Also known as MIT Mike, Aponte was recruited by the MIT Blackjack Team during the heyday of Strategic Investments in 1992. After SI disbanded in 1993, MIT Mike went on to play for a smaller hand-picked team which was wildly successful, once bringing in a huge win of almost half a million dollars in one weekend. Aponte is now too severely blacklisted to play professionally at any casino, but he is still deeply involved with blackjack through other channels, including Blackjack Institute, which he co-founded with fellow MIT blackjack player Dave Irvine.
