Gambling classes might just end up on the UK curriculum for school children. If it sounds a little warped, consider that the idea has shadow education secretary Stephen Twigg’s thumbs up. Gamcare, a gambling addiction charity, is also said to approve. Such classes would, according to Twigg, give children “information to prepare them for the adult world.”
The suggestion came from an industry-funded body pushing the idea that secondary school children should be taught how correctly studying the form of race horses, dogs and sports teams can lead to improved odds. Gamcare added the suggestion that children should be taught to play craps and informed about the workings of slot machines. Twigg commented “With the rise of online gambling, there is clearly a need for children and young people to be given good advice.”
