Nothile Mlita (24) has been crowned the best blackjack dealer of South Africa in this year’s Tsogo Sun Gaming competition. “The competition was nerve-wracking,” she said. “The judges were such experienced people who knew everything about dealing. You had to let your mind work very fast to ensure you remained on top of your game.”
She competed against 13 other dealers put forward by different casinos, entering the TSG after ending as runner up in the internal company competition at Suncoast Casino and Entertainment World where she works. This was her first time competing.
Dealers at the TSG were judged on their blackjack and roulette proficiency. They were scored on skill, speed, accuracy, chip handling, grooming, customer relations, versatility, and table attentiveness.
